Part of my history in the music business includes being a booking agent for seven years, so I have an idea of what it takes to be a good agent. You need not only to be a good salesperson, but be a good debt collector, extremely organized, love music and musicians, have plenty of patience, be honest, be able to catch phone calls in the middle of the night, be capable of standing up to the tough guys, know how to spot the cons, and be a good babysitter and nurse maid.

Most agents are men. I tried training and teaching several women as agents and failed. Most could not handle the pressure or fell in love or heat with the musicians. Terry Reeves is an exception to the rule. She is such a great agent that I tried to convince her to go national with her company. She was smart and kept her stable to a small number of bands and artists in order to do the job thoroughly rather than signing as many as she could and do a so so job. She has a great personality and is a sincere friend to those who are fair with her.

In the past I recommended her to dozens of new bands and will continue to do so for as long as she is in the music business in whatever capacity she decides to undertake. She is definitely a Friend of mine.
